Our first weekly Choir launches in HMP Lancaster Farms

We had heard it all too often to not try and do something about it. For a while now Sing Inside has largely operated off a one-day workshop model but we are excited to announce we are trialling the launch of 2 new choirs in the North-West in 2025.

We know from discussions with the participants in prison, or volunteers and the prison staff that more regular sessions are wanted and needed in prisons. Up to this point funding and capacity has limited us to one-day workshops.

Our Lancaster Farms choir launched in April 2025 and has consistently had at least 15 participants. We're delighted to see confidence already growing, singing ability improving, prisoners reporting increased wellbeing and relationships with staff, other prisoners and volunteers are stronger.

The choir will initially run for a 6-month trial to assess it's impact and longer term sustainability.
