In the return of our blog series, we introduce our trustees to you in a series of questions.
How did you first hear about Sing Inside?
An school friend asked if I would be able to help her daughter, Giverny, and the team at Sing Inside transition from University Club to full charitable status. The more I worked with Maisie and Giverny the more I wanted to get involved and make a difference. Part of that process was to appoint trustees, and I was both flattered and delighted when they asked if I was willing to join the board.
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Enthusiastic, Perceptive and Active.
Where are you based and what do you do at the moment?
I was born and grew up in Manchester and now based in London. I am a Leadership coach, facilitator and speaker. In addition I host the weekly Man City Show podcast.
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned in lockdown?
We have the most amazing capacity to be kind.
What are your hopes for Sing Inside in the next few years?
I hope we can expand our work into as many prisons as possible, see social barriers between people in prison and the general public eradicated and, over time, have a greater influence over prison regimes to recognise the positive impact having fun can have.
